What to Expect in Therapy

Getting started with therapy

Therapy begins by addressing any experience that hinders or impacts your sense of well-being. It starts by focusing on identifying the emotions you are feeling or are unable to feel right now.

Each client’s journey is different and many factors contribute to a successful outcome. These include commitment, expectations, openness, trust between you and your therapist, and a willingness to let go of your defenses.

Helping you live your best life

After experiencing my own trauma, I wanted to help others navigate the perilous waters of discovering who they truly are. Through my education and experience, I learned to trust my instincts and concluded that this was the key to a journey we are all taking in life.

My career began in corporate America, where I learned many valuable tools. I then transitioned into mental health because I wanted to give back and guide others in finding meaning in their lives.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of New Jersey, I help individuals, teens and couples find their authentic selves. I combine several different approaches to meet the needs of my clients, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and Brainspotting,
two brain-based therapies that quickly address psychological problems.

I also draw on other approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy.
